Coach Johnson: Has been with the Panthers since 2006. She is the first women’s volleyball coach in GTCC history. Johnson was a stand-out athlete at Division I Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She competed in both volleyball and track and field. Sabrina’s hard work paid off as she led her ASU volleyball squad to a Southern Conference Championship in 1990. Her track and field teams faired well too, winning four Southern Conference Championships. Sabrina excelled as a top triple and high jumper. Before ASU, she attended Raleigh Millbrook High School where she starred in both volleyball and track and field.
During the past three years she has taught in the physical education department at GTCC. Her course load included a wide variety of classes including a class in volleyball fundamentals. Sabrina is a Nationally Certified Fitness Trainer who has worked professionally in the area for the past five years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from ASU as well as a Master of Science degree in Sport Studies from High Point University.
Coach Johnson resides Jamestown, NC with her husband Jerome and their children Alanna and Nolan.
