SHEMIAH BROOKS SIGN WITH CLEMSON!!

Senior Jumper/Hurdler Shemiah Brooks took only (2) of her (5) scheduled official visits, (the maximum numbers of official visits allowed to senior athletes) to make her final decision that Death Valley would be her new track home in the fall of 2012. After visits to Clemson University and Auburn University, Brooks decided that there was no need for any other visits she wanted to attend Clemson University.

In a conversation with Shemiah after her visit to Auburn, She stated that she was tired of the recruiting process and wanted to end it by making her announcement effective immediately. She stated that Clemson just felt like home, she loved her time with the coaches and athletes also the facilities were second to none. It didn’t hurt that Clemson’s womens team have won the ACC Championships for the past (2) years and from the looks of things they should win again this year. Brooks stated that she wanted to join a winning program where she would not come in as the top jumper, but have to work hard to be the best. Brooks had also considered visits to Alabama, NC State, Virginia, South Carolina, LSU.

Shemiah Brooks: HP Panthers current record holder in the Triple Jump: 39-03, the Long Jump: 17-08.50 also posts a time of 14.66 in the 100H. The time is good enough to share top honors for the event.
